Show Details Shared Note: - Stephen Jones Box was in Texas in 1840, having been granted land in what was then Houston Co., (out of which Rusk Co., was formed). Aparently he was something of an adventurer and wanderer before bringing the family to Rusk Co., in 1850. It may well be (though not yet verified) that he was one of the Box family that fought for Texas Independence, since he was granted land by a grateful Republic of Texas.
